Application Fields of Slewing Bearings
A slewing bearing is a large-scale bearing that can withstand combined loads. It can simultaneously bear large axial, radial loads and overturning moments, and is widely used in the following fields:
(1)Construction machinery: Such as cranes, excavators, loaders, pavers, etc. Taking a crane as an example, the slewing bearing is installed between the turntable and the chassis of the crane, enabling the turntable to rotate flexibly 360 degrees, thus realizing the lifting and loading/unloading of heavy objects.
(2)Mining machinery: Such as mine hoists, open-pit mining excavators and other equipment. In an open-pit mining excavator, the slewing bearing supports the upper working devices, including the boom, stick and bucket, etc., enabling the excavator to rotate flexibly during the excavation process and improving work efficiency.
(3)Metallurgical machinery: For example, the tilting device of a converter, the turntable of a continuous casting machine, etc. The slewing bearing in the tilting device of a converter can bear the huge weight and moment during the tilting process of the converter, ensuring the smooth tilting of the converter and facilitating operations such as tapping molten steel and charging iron.
(4)Port machinery: Such as port cranes, container reach stackers, etc. The port crane realizes the slewing motion of the jib through the slewing bearing, and can load and unload goods at different positions, improving the cargo handling capacity of the port.
(5)Wind power generation: A slewing bearing is usually used between the nacelle and the tower of a wind turbine. It not only has to support the weight of the nacelle, but also bear the unbalanced forces and moments generated by the rotation of the wind turbine rotor, ensuring that the nacelle can rotate flexibly with the change of the wind direction, so that the wind turbine rotor is always in the optimal windward position.
(6)Medical equipment: Such as large medical imaging equipment, such as CT scanners, MRI machines, etc. The slewing bearing is used to support the rotating parts of the equipment, ensuring that the equipment can accurately obtain image information of the human body from different angles during the scanning process.
(7)Aerospace: In some aerospace equipment, such as the rotating mechanism of radar antennas, the deployment mechanism of satellite solar panels, etc., the slewing bearing also plays a key role. It needs to have characteristics such as high precision, high reliability and light weight to meet the special requirements of the aerospace field.
Industrial robots: Slewing bearings are often used in the joints of robots, enabling the arms and joints of robots to rotate flexibly and realizing various complex movements and operations. They are widely used in industrial automation fields such as automotive manufacturing and electronic production.
